If you were recently injured in an accident, you can take comfort in knowing that at
Preston & Salango, PLLC, we take cases on a contingency fee basis. What does this mean and how
can this arrangement be beneficial to you?
A contingency fee arrangement means that you only pay a fee if we handle
your case successfully. Contingency fee arrangements are only used in
cases where money is being claimed; for instance, in
personal injury or workers' compensation cases.
With a contingency fee arrangement, a lawyer agrees to accept a fixed percentage
of the recovery, which is the amount of money that is ultimately paid
to the client. In effect, if you win the case, the attorney's fee
will come out of the money awarded to you. However, if you lose, neither
you nor your attorney will receive any money, and you will not be required
to pay your attorney for any work that he or she did on your case.
At Preston & Salango, PLLC, we accept cases on a contingency fee basis,
meaning, there are no out-of-pocket or upfront costs and there is no fee
unless we recover for you. We understand how personal injury accidents
turn peoples' lives upside-down, thus we do everything possible to
help make the process as easy as possible for our clients and we start
by accepting a case on a no recovery, no fee basis.
